Why we hate religion and don’t care for Jesus much either

John 15:14 You are my friends if you do what I command you.
Luke 6:46 “Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do what I tell you?

Just as I was pasting this verse from Luke into this post, my boys were playing with their handheld language translator. They must have came across the word betray and my six year old said to his brother “you know what betray means – it means you say you love somebody but you really don’t, like how most people betray the Lord”. There are two things that this spoke to me. The first is about the “Why I love Jesus but Hate Religion” video. Like my six year old who can’t perfectly define betray, and generalizes a bit, he knows more about the great falling away than most people do.

Second, there is a strong counterfeit movement bringing people out of the traditional “church” scene (usually under the name emergent) that could rightly say “Why we hate religion and don’t care for Jesus much either”. While the elect are grieved over all of the apostasy in the system, the emergent’s are equally grieved over the remaining bit of light, truth, and righteousness in there. They dont care about Jesus in truth, they just happen to disagree with some of the anti-biblical things in the traditional church. The traditional church will agree with half of Christs words, the emergents will take the other half. Yet Jesus, a great king, demands we receive all of His word.

John 8:31 So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed in him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

John 8:43 Why do you not understand what I say? It is because you cannot bear to hear my word.

This is why we have to read Gods word, take sides with it (even if it means taking sides against ourselves) and by the grace of God, a heart of love, and child like faith, we must actually do what Jesus says – not pick and choose what we will agree with and obey. Our allegiance has to be to Christ, His word, and His kingdom. Not to any religious or even anti-religious movement.

“All to Jesus I surrender, all to Him I freely give”.

all who believed were together

January 24, 2012

Acts 2:44 And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.

Acts 4:31 And when they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God with boldness. Now the full number of those who believed were of one heart and soul, and no one said that any of the things that belonged to him was his own, but they had everything in common. And with great power the apostles were giving their testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them all. There was not a needy person among them, for as many as were owners of lands or houses sold them and brought the proceeds of what was sold and laid it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to each as any had need

Warnings and encouragements

1Corinthians 6:9-11

The warning:
Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

The encouragement:
And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

Galatians 5:19-25

The warning:
Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

The encouragement:
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.

Ephesians 5:1-7

The encouragement:
Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. But sexual immorality and all impurity or covetousness must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints. Let there be no filthiness nor foolish talk nor crude joking, which are out of place, but instead let there be thanksgiving.

The warning:
For you may be sure of this, that everyone who is sexually immoral or impure, or who is covetous (that is, an idolater), has no inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Therefore do not become partners with them;

1John 3:6-10

The warning:
No one who abides in him keeps on sinning; no one who keeps on sinning has either seen him or known him. Little children, let no one deceive you. Whoever practices righteousness is righteous, as he is righteous. Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning.

The encouragement:
The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil. No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God’s seed abides in him, and he cannot keep on sinning because he has been born of God. By this it is evident who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love his brother.

Hebrews 10:26-33

The warning:
For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries.  Anyone who has set aside the law of Moses dies without mercy on the evidence of two or three witnesses. How much worse punishment, do you think, will be deserved by the one who has spurned the Son of God, and has profaned the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has outraged the Spirit of grace?

The encouragement:
For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised. For, “Yet a little while, and the coming one will come and will not delay;  but my righteous one shall live by faith, and if he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him.”  But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and preserve their souls.

Application:
Do not be deceived because masses of christendom practice unrighteousness while claiming that they will inherit the kingdom of God.  Think on the cross, what Christ has done for you being bruised and forsaken by God for your sin. He became sin for us that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.  He rose from the dead and offers us a mighty and powerful resurrection life in Him that is lived by faith in and love for Him.  Do not be deceived by church leadership that deceives you with empty words.  There is a narrow gate and a narrow road.

This isn’t a matter of once saved always saved either.  It is a matter of have you been once saved?  See, two people will hear this and their christian lives both look like a failure right now.  One finds a reason to explain away these clear warnings and continue on with the empty form and tradition of their religious life.  They die in their sin and stand condemned at the judgement.  They may have even looked clean on the outside, claimed Jesus was the only way, but their private life tells God a different story.

The other, in humility and brokeness before God hears the voice of Jesus Christ speaking through His word, believes Him and casts themselves on Him.  They want to please Jesus because they love Him.  They know they can’t do it themselves so they cast themselves on Him because they trust that He cares for them and came to save them from the devils work.  Whatever that work is, hyporcisy, lust, greed, pride, living at ease in zion, in lukwearmness, pornography, a heart that doesn’t really  love God above all things including family.  Dont dismay – for this reason Jesus came to earth – to destroy the devils work on your life!  The only way this is bad news is if you enjoy the devils work on your life and want to save your life, in that case you will lose it.

Isaiah 42:3  a bruised reed he will not break, and a faintly burning wick he will not quench; he will faithfully bring forth justice.

So… God hates athiests and arabs?

I ran across this story recently, this makes me so sad.

“A United States Marine was attending some college courses between assignments. He had completed missions in Iraq and Afghanistan & ln one of the courses had a professor who was an a vowed atheist and a member of the ACLU.
One day the professor shocked the class when he came in. He looked to the ceiling and flatly stated, ‘God, if you are real, then I want you to knock me off this platform…. I’ll give you exactly 15 min.’
The lecture room fell silent. You could hear a pin drop.. Ten minutes went by and the professor proclaimed, ‘Here I am God. I’m still waiting.’ It got down to the last couple of minutes when the Marine got out of his chair, went up to the professor, and cold-cocked him; knocking him off the platform. The professor was out cold. The Marine went back to his seat and sat there, silently.
The other students were shocked and stunned and sat there looking on in silence. The professor eventually came to, noticeably shaken, looked at the Marine and asked, ‘What the world is the matter with you? Why did you do that?’ The Marine calmly replied, ‘God was too busy today protecting American soldiers who are protecting your right to say stupid stuff and act like an idiot. So, He sent me.’

The way I read it, the moral of the story is:  God hates athiests and arabs.  He only blesses the good “christian” soliders that blow their brains out in the middle east and assault them in their own classrooms.  The only problem with this story is that it is not the God of the Bible that sent the marine, but the god of  the christian right instead.  Can you spot anything wrong with this story?  I can think of some great conversations I have had with athiests while out passing tracts or street preaching.  Some lasting for an hour.  I guess I should have just punched them to prove God existed (as if believing God exists has some great moral quality in it – satan knows that God exists).  The christian right is at far greater war with the God of the Bible than any athiest or muslim could ever pretend to be.  Six years ago I would have actually supported this marine story, you can read my confession about this on a post at the proto protestant blog.   Here are a couple of comments from that post  for those who wont click the link.  The original post and all the comments are well worth the read though.

“This is in some ways like the dark ages – these conservative “christian” groups hate muslims and support murdering them under the banner of the american flag (ie “God bless our troops”). If only they had one protestant pope to be united under we could really repeat some satanic history. These groups have nothing to do with Jesus Christ or His kingdom. Jesus lays down His life for His enemies. The word babylon comes to mind.”

“The right-wing Christo-american sacralists operate in exactly the same spirit as the jihadists, only the names of their prophets and idols are different. Bullying and intimidating and threatening and appealing to greed and covetesness; strengthening bigotries and distorting truth; sowing fear and division–nothing of the Spirit of Christ.”

The unholy catholic church

And the woman was arayed in purple & skarlet, and gilded with golde, and precious stones, and pearles, and had a cup of gold in her hand, full of abominations, and filthines of her fornication. And in her forehead was a name written, A mysterie, that great Babylon, that mother of whoredomes, and abominations of the earth. And I sawe ye woman drunken with the blood of Saintes, and with the blood of the Martyrs of Iesvs: and when I sawe her, I wondred with great marueile. -Rev 17:4-6 Geneva

Geneva Bible Commentary:

(4) That harlot, the spiritual Babylon, which is Rome. She is described by her attire, profession, and deeds. (5) In attire most glorious, triumphant, most rich, and most gorgeous. (6) In profession the nourisher of all, in this verse and teaching her mysteries to all, (Rev_17:5) setting forth all things most magnificently: but indeed fatally besetting miserable men with her cup, and brings upon them a deadly giddiness.

Matthew Henry:

Rome clearly appears to be meant in this chapter. Pagan Rome subdued and ruled with military power, not by art and flatteries. She left the nations in general to their ancient usages and worship. But it is well known that by crafty and politic management, with all kinds of deceit of unrighteousness, papal Rome has obtained and kept her rule over kings and nations. Here were allurements of worldly honour and riches, pomp and pride, suited to sensual and worldly minds. Prosperity, pomp, and splendour, feed the pride and lusts of the human heart, but are no security against the Divine vengeance. The golden cup represents the allurements, and delusions, by which this mystical Babylon has obtained and kept her influence, and seduced others to join her abominations. She is named, from her infamous practices, a mother of harlots; training them up to idolatry and all sorts of wickedness. She filled herself with the blood of the saints and martyrs of Jesus. She intoxicated herself with it; and it was so pleasant to her, that she never was satisfied. We cannot but wonder at the oceans of Christian blood shed by men called Christians; yet when we consider these prophecies, these awful deeds testify to the truth of the gospel. And let all beware of a splendid, gainful, or fashionable religion. Let us avoid the mysteries of iniquity, and study diligently the great mystery of godliness, that we may learn humility and gratitude from the example of Christ. The more we seek to resemble him, the less we shall be liable to be deceived by antichrist.

 John Wesley:

And on her forehead a name written – Whereas the saints have the name of God and the Lamb on their foreheads. Mystery – This very word was inscribed on the front of the Pope’s mitre, till some of the Reformers took public notice of it. Babylon the great – Benedict XIII., in his proclamation of the jubilee, A.D. 1725, explains this sufficiently. His words are, “To this holy city, famous for the memory of so many holy martyrs, run with religious alacrity. Hasten to the place which the Lord hath chose. Ascend to this new Jerusalem, whence the law of the Lord and the light of evangelical truth hath flowed forth into all nations, from the very first beginning of the church: the city most rightfully called ‘The Palace,’ placed for the pride of all ages, the city of the Lord, the Sion of the Holy One of Israel. This catholic and apostolical Roman church is the head of the world, the mother of all believers, the faithful interpreter of God and mistress of all churches.”

But God somewhat varies the style. The mother of harlots – The parent, ringleader, patroness, and nourisher of many daughters, that losely copy after her. And abominations – Of every kind, spiritual and fleshly. Of the earth – In all lands. In this respect she is indeed catholic or universal.

Blinding, powerful, religious delusion

Have you seen the Why I love Jesus But Hate Religion video?  The young brother in the video may over generalize a little bit, but I give it a HUGE thumbs up.  If you haven’t seen the video here it is.

“A poem I wrote to highlight the difference between Jesus and false religion.”

Now, here is a satanic catholic priest’s response to the video.  For this cause God shall send them strong delusion.

”The purpose of this video is to do a response from a Catholic perspective, in a spirit of love, but also with a spirit of passion to defend our Mother the Church”

Ah, mother, the unrepentant drunken whore and imposter of the bride of Christ… what can be said in her defense?

2Co 11:1-4  Would to God ye could bear with me a little in my folly: and indeed bear with me. For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.

If you belong to a Church that is involved in uniting with catholics you need to run for your life.  That is a false unity.  Hear Christ’s effectual call to come out from among them.

God shall send them strong delusion

There once was a whorish women who had many harlot daughters.  Being the type of woman that she was, many of her girls ran away from home as teenagers in rebellion.  Some stayed home though for traditions saken, others stayed out of a mix of fear, control, and a sense of luxury offered.  The run aways would say many bad things about their mother.  They knew she was a whore, but they themselves were apples that had not fallen far from the tree.  Once their days of youthful rebellion ran course they realized they had much in common with their mother.

Mother had a strong desire to call her little harlots home.  Although they often wrote her on Christmas and Easter she wanted more than that.  She worked hard to find ways to bond with her children.  She signed a peace treaty with them called catholics and evangelicals together.  Mother also remembered the old saying “nothing unifies like a common enemy”.  She found a common enemy that her harlot daughters were very passionate about.  This enemy was named abortion.  The harlots and their mother started protesting abortion together.  They started to become closer.  It’s not that mother had become any less of a whore, its just that the harlots were becoming more like her.  The daughters claimed they still loved their father that mother had cheated on and divorced a long time ago.  Mother claimed she still loved father too – she even paid a male prostitute to dress like a jester and go by the name of holy father.  Everyone made believe and validated each others whoredom.  This is a true story, this family reuinion is coming to a town near you.

For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.  And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:  Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:  That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. -2 Theselonians 2:7-12

My heart is broken within me to see the victims.

The hypocritical voice of the martyrs

I find it ironic that the voice of the martyrs supports the roman catholic ‘church’ considering the great whore has been responsible for shedding the blood of so many saints down through the ages.  Many stories in their own book “Jesus Freaks” (that I cherish)  are about the Roman and English religious institutions murdering true saints.  They don’t usually tell you that though and subtly leave believers with the impression that it was some nasty communist or muslim committing the murder.  I hope VOM will be more consistent and start supporting persecuted communists and muslims too along with their support of roman catholics.

A sweet word from heaven for the new year

“I think many of us are a little like Samson. We feel the days of a powerful testimony of Jesus are in our past – that ‘Delilahs’ have come to draw our hearts away from our first love, and the accompanying power of that love – the fullness of the Holy Spirit.

Samson made a comeback. He brought the house down, in the end. His past failures were put behind him.

Let us also throw away our lives for the Lamb.

To how many professing Christians is Jesus REAL?”
