Christian Conspiracy Theorists

For the LORD spoke thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying: “ Do not say, ‘A conspiracy,’ Concerning all that this people call a conspiracy, Nor be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled. The LORD of hosts, Him you shall hallow; Let Him be your fear, And let Him be your dread. He will be as a sanctuary, But a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense To both the houses of Israel, As a trap and a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem. And many among them shall stumble; They shall fall and be broken, Be snared and taken. ~ Isaiah 8:11-15 NKJV

The Illuminati, New World Order, FEMA death camps… having a website named “Flee Babylon”, I certainly have been contacted by many professing Christians that are obsessed with end time conspiracy theories.  Let me first say that this post is NOT intended to contradict any of these popular topics.  In fact, I believe there are some truths in these matters.  My main contention rather is with the unbiblical obsession with these topics that do little to mortify the sinful members or produce the life of Christ in any believer.

Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it. ~ Luke 9:23-24 NKJV

Believing in the “end times” does not make you a believer in Christ.  Following the latest conspiracy theories does not make you a follower of Jesus.  As I responded to one email that asked me about large quantities of black coffins being stored in a major US city… “What about the black coffins in your own heart”.  We are commanded to love our neighbor, turn from greed, hatred, pride, lust, and to love the Lord with all of our hearts; we are never commanded to become obsessed with conspiracy theories.  Conspiracy theories revolve around the fear of man and government.  I think many professing Christians obsess about these things because they refuse the cross now in times of peace.  They are at ease in Zion and fear anything that will disturb them on their comfortable beds of ivory.  For now they can convince themselves that they are following Christ, but what about when the choice has to be made to be killed or accept the mark?  That day cannot be prepared for by simply storing up food and water or watching the national news.  We must feed on bread from heaven and drink living waters and watch our own hearts if we are to stand for Christ in that day.  Christ is still a rock of offense to those who claim to believe His Gospel but live their lives by avoiding the cross at any price.

“And I say to you, My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear Him who, after He has killed, has power to cast into hell; yes, I say to you, fear Him! ~ Luke 12:4-5 NKJV

I go on facebook and see that professing Christians repost some of the most ridiculous things coming out of infowars and similar sites. This discredits the testimony of Christ because they are being made a laughing stock for preaching the gospel of infowars even when it is clearly so far from the truth it is laughable. The largest false flags being set off are those coming from infowars crying wolf all of the time, not realizing the judgments coming to to our homeland and the earth as a whole are directly from the hand of God. I feel very compelled to report what the Lord had laid on my heart some time ago.

The gospel of infowars is no gospel at all, and it is a distraction to true believers. I am not saying there isn’t any truth in there, but just so much nonsense it is hardly worth picking through. I do believe in taking practical steps to prepare for some of the things that we know are coming upon the face of the earth if we can do so in faith and be guided by the Holy Spirit rather than infowars.

Can I throw in world net daily? I stopped reading some of that mess years ago and am embarrassed for those who use their stories as evidence for information.

Also, I no longer am convinced that the mark of the beast is going to be a literal mark or microchip. Either way, we know throughout history professing believers have been forced to “take the mark” or not like bowing to Caesar and declaring him to be god, bowing to the pope and receiving his unholy communion, bowing to the reformers or tyrannical king james, etc.

    • missdebra says:

In the book of Revelation God does say there will be a literal mark of the beast on the hand or forehead. We cannot let our own personal opinions and imaginations supersede the Word of God. However, your article is very well taken. I especially like the line “What about the black coffins in your own heart.”

In addition to our inner work however, the Lord does tell us to be wise as serpents and gentle as doves. He also says we should not be ignorant about the enemy’s devices. Some of the “infowar” reporters do occupy an important place in the Body of Christ letting us know how to pray about what is going on behind the scenes, and keeping us wise as we do business in this world. Please do not knock those whose ministries may be different from yours.

Yes, it is time to make sure we have oil in our lamps. I believe that the meaning of the “oil” is to be filled with the Holy Spirit and fully on fire for Him..We must be In love with God. That is what He is looking for. All good works that are altruistic flow out of passion for Him.

Let us not water down the book of Revelation and the other prophetic bible books which speak about literal judgement that will soon come on the unbelieving earth. This judgement is not for the church, His faithful bride. Therefore we do not need to lessen the horrors that are coming upon the wicked (God knows who they are) because we are concerned we might still be here ourselves! Jesus says in Luke 21:36 that we are to “Watch and pray always that we may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.”

I have confidence that God is not going to rain judgement intended for the persecuting wicked upon His persecuted Bride! What kind of a husband would He be if he attacked His darlings along with the bullies who have harassed, maligned, tortured and rejected us? I know the Lord better than that!

I am excited for His soon coming and my soon departure from this miserable rebellious world. Until then I do His will and keep looking up!

For sure sister – so my question is if our opinion has been formed by the whole council of the word of God or the left behind series. Knowing that the Bible was not written in chapters like we currently have do you believe that that the 144,000 will have physical names on their foreheads?

” Please do not knock those whose ministries may be different from yours.”

I am only knocking that which lead Gods people to obsess over things that often serve as distractions (and much of which is false to begin with) to the true abundance that he has for us to be his witnesses in these last days.

“Let us not water down the book of Revelation and the other prophetic bible books which speak about literal judgement that will soon come on the unbelieving earth. ”

I definitely took care not do that, but know this, the literal judgment of God is already upon culture Christians and self deluded church members – many of who believe in the end times prophesies even.

“This judgement is not for the church, His faithful bride. ”

But it is for the harlot church system (most of what is commonly called “the church” today). That is where much confusion will be in the coming days.

God bless you sister, I definitely do not want saints to be unwise of the day we live in and sorry if I came across that way. I hate to be so brief but I have to leave for work. I should probably write a lot more to clear up any things I may have mis- communicated

Not at all Jim. Your comments are very much appreciated. I myself have tired of some of the sensational so called Christian news websites. One of them in particular ( calling themselves true news) blasts horribly offensive banners across their page. Everything about what Satan is doing and absolutely nothing about the good works of God that are happening all over the world! I am tired of it myself.

I just want to be careful not to “throw the baby out with the bath water” by lumping all these “ministries” together. I have a couple that I follow who I respect. They tastefully pick and choose what they feel is important for the ecclesia to know, and avoid the shocking smutty horrors that some resort to to get attention.

I really appreciate your blog. I support your sincere endeavor to stay connected in a discipling way with the true Lady, God’s Bride the Ecclesia. We Called Out Ones need your ministry very much. God Bless You!

To clear things up a little, here are a couple thoughts I posted earlier in this conversation…

Let me first say that this post is NOT intended to contradict any of these popular topics. In fact, I believe there are some truths in these matters. My main contention rather is with the unbiblical obsession with these topics that do little to mortify the sinful members or produce the life of Christ in any believer.

    =====================================================================================

To expand on that let me add I am most definitely not writing this to come against any brethren that study end times or who are taking practical steps to prepare for what is about to come upon the earth (Katrina, Asian Tsunami, Fukashima, 9-11, etc). Such a list would include almost all of the closest brethren that I know and love! I am reminded of Peter prophesying (possibly with some duel implication about the coming destruction of Jeruselum, though more so about the final end of this age) in the 3rd chapter of his second letter:

Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, what sort of people ought you to be in lives of holiness and godliness, waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be set on fire and dissolved, and the heavenly bodies will melt as they burn! But according to his promise we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells. Therefore, beloved, since you are waiting for these, be diligent to be found by him without spot or blemish, and at peace.

You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, take care that you are not carried away with the error of lawless people and lose your own stability. But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.

What I see among the conspiracy theorists today is a type of hype and mindset that is nothing like what Peter produces with his warnings. Peters purpose is that people would be stirred up to a holy soberness and examine their own conduct, not to go chasing every story about false flags and the illuminati that is posted on the internet. About the mark of the beast: The fact that those who take the mark cannot repent of it later tells us something interesting, for taking the whole counsel of Scripture into consideration, this would mean that taking the mark is synonymous with a conscious rejection of the Lord Jesus.Hebrews tells us that it is only those who have heard the truth and rejected it who cannot find repentance, the door of grace is closed to them. So it implies a certain degree of “Christianization” of the whole world and then a rejection of Christ for another “christ”. It’s not solely that they worship a man “the beast” as if he were God, cos people have always done that, Hindus do it, and they also find repentance and get saved out of it. But they are not ones who have heard the gospel and then made a conscious rejection of the Lord Jesus, So the real issue with the mark of the beast is who they are rejecting, not who they are accepting.

    • fleebabylon says:

” Hindus do it, and they also find repentance and get saved out of it. ”

That’s a very good observation brother.

    • missdebra says:

Excellent observation. What you are saying implies that there may be a great revival before the anti christ is revealed.

  5. amongtheforgotten says:

Thanks Jim, for always saying it exactly like it is.
There was a season in my life where I felt like these “other issues” were starting to consume me. One particular news source was sending me 5-10 emails a day in relation to all the supposed “evil things” their adversaries were up to. It soon became a drag upon my life and overshadowed my love for Jesus very quickly. That’s when I discontinued information from that source entirely for it was anything but edifying.
It’s fairly clear in Scripture that our eyes are to be stayed upon Jesus and as such, He will keep us in perfect peace. It’s as you say Jim, when the troubles of this world become a focus, that we feel obligated to attempt to do something to retain or regain the peace we have had in this world- a particular comfort zone we prefer to live within. What we so soon forget is this natural peace is not Jesus’ peace at all, it is a conditional peace based upon our circumstances. If that is my goal or desire, I will have to do something to alter my environment to make it the way I want it (usually by worldly attempts to moralize society). This is nothing short of selfish. At it’s root, it is based upon the fear of man and government, which by the way is established by God. A perfect example is this past election. All these “Christians” telling us we need to vote against the liberals and yet in God’s sovereignty a liberal is in office because of HIM! And His judgment is being excercised through this man and his cabinet and our “rights” (which we’ve supposedly renounced as believers) are being taken away etc. NONE of this is a crisis or THE issue. The issue is, and has always been Jesus and no other, or an other.
Embracing the cross (dying to ourselves) is mandated for Christians and those who refuse it (professors only)will be damned. The very cross is contrasted with losing one’s soul in the passage you noted. Those who embrace the cross are dying daily, death is their portion and the very vehicle through which resurrection life is obtained and exercised.
It is ONLY those who fail to recognize this mandate and embrace it that get caught up in what profits nothing for eternity.
I’m not trading what Jesus purchased for me for any amount of comfort. This is not my home and I’m investing in brothers and sisters like you who stay the course and seek a better home.

Amen brother, some professing christians seek refuge in the republican party, some in the democrats, many now in a third party…

but our Lord Jesus Christ is the only place of refuge.

Psalm 34:8 Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him! Oh, fear the LORD, you his saints, for those who fear him have no lack!

  6. fleebabylon says:

    The words of Jesus

Luke 13… Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them: do you think that they were worse offenders than all the others who lived in Jerusalem? No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.

The words of christian conspiracy theorists

Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them: don’t you realize that it was a false flag attack, that it was an Illuminati plot to take away our rights. I tell you the truth unless you repost this on facebook you will all likewise be called sheeple.

  7. fleebabylon says:

  8. fleebabylon says:

Just one more thought to balance all this, I do believe in being prepared and having wisdom for these dark days in which we live. If nothing else, the recent events of 9/11, the asian tsunami, katrina, fukashima, etc should be a wake up call to all professing believers…

    BUT

The call must be first and foremost a spiritual wake up call, after that we can start talking about the physical implications.

  9. amongtheforgotten says:

Amen and Amen. Oh by the way, that sheeple comment was hilarious!
