You are all brethren

But you, do not be called ‘Rabbi’; for One is your Teacher, the Christ, and you are all brethren. Do not call anyone on earth your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven. And do not be called teachers; for One is your Teacher, the Christ. ~Matthew 23:8-10

I think what the Lord must be saying is this – There are two type of believers, clergy and laity. The laity should address the clergy men with honorary titles such as reverend and pastor.

Sounds like Francis Chan… one of the most admired earthly men by my wife and I… Crazy Love will renew your faith. He is a huge supporter of our Passion for orphans.

I had a look at Chan’s website. Right on the front page he boasts that he gives 90% of his income to God.

Jesus said DON’T DO IT. Otherwise we have no reward of our Father in heaven.

There is NOT ONE famous preacher today who obeys even the most basic of Jesus commands.

Anyone who follows such is spiritually blind.

On the title of Reverend?? Yes, it’s not in the Bible, BUT…. unless i exalt myself, how will people honor me as a leader?

Even the apostles were addressed simply as brother.

    From my friend, Glenn Christopherson:

“Why, when Jesus says call no man Rabbi or Teacher, we create whole systems based on just that?”
