Can a man marry a building?

After recently reading this blurb on facebook

“Went to decorate the church for christmas tonight”

and this bit about Christian persecution in Eqypt

“The region of Edfu was targeted on September 30. The Christians complied with Muslim demands to express love and peace for their country. Crosses and the church bell were removed, but it was not enough to make the Muslims happy. The next demand was that the dome on top of the church was to be removed as well. Church leaders told the Muslim community that the removal of the dome would create structural damage to the century old church. Shouts of “Allahu Akbar” preceded the attack, which resulted in the burning down of the church.”

and being reminded of this kids rhyme

“Here is the church, here is the steeple, open the door and see all the people” (Lets indoctrinate them while they’re young).

And finally this bit from an old post

“It is a sad truth that most believers are so conditioned by institutional religion that they can point to a building and say  ”that’s my church”.  Or say something like “my church is at the corner of such and such streets” or ask “how many people can your church seat”? If you remind them the Church is the body of Christ, not a building, they will give a vague nod..”

I think there is something deep at work here, this is not an innocent matter.  The Church are living stones, we REALLY do make up the Church.  Not the building, programs, and religious titles, but the true saints.   I am not trying to make anyone feel bad, most of us have been indoctrinated by and walked in the same ignorance in times past.  Tearing down these lies in your life will help you walk closer to Jesus.  If you are truly born again –  Jesus loves YOU – not a building.  He died for YOU – not a building.  YOU are the Church – not a building.  Please don’t just nod your head and walk back into the make believe land of churchianity.

Love in Christ to my brothers and sisters.

I am starting to see this too brother. I know that this is an old post but – this once a week gathering where people tithe or give their money to a specific charity, sing a few songs and then go home just seems like the “very least” that we should do.

The church is this and much more. Like yourself, I am not trying to make anyone feel that they are completely wrong but sitting in a pew in todays churches and looking around I *don’t see* love, joy or peace…I see a caged, depressed, spirit quenched group of people who for most part are thinking like myself “Is this it!”

Where is the joy and the love for one another and the peace (of Christ and not this “all faiths together” apostasy)

When someone in the world wins the lottery they jump up and down for joy – We have the message which gives eternal life – priceless – but looking around the churches you just wouldn’t believe it. We need to pray and seek God and lift up the gospel – we need to preach this word constantly, praise him, worship him, Love him…this is what broke the chains and opened all of the doors in Acts 16. Jump for joy people, jump for joy 🙂
