Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord

1Pe 3:1-12 Likewise, wives, be subject to your own husbands, so that even if some do not obey the word, they may be won without a word by the conduct of their wives, when they see your respectful and pure conduct. Do not let your adorning be external–the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear– but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God’s sight is very precious. For this is how the holy women who hoped in God used to adorn themselves, by submitting to their own husbands, as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord. And you are her children, if you do good and do not fear anything that is frightening. Likewise, husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as the weaker vessel, since they are heirs with you of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered. Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind. Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing. For “Whoever desires to love life and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit; let him turn away from evil and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it. For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”

I have been reading a few sisters blogs about bad encounters they had with false male authority in the system and now they use it as an excuse to go to the other error and preach an anti-biblical and feminist doctrine.  In their opinions poor Sarah must have been abused in captivity and oppressed at home.  Do not fall victim of the feminist spirit of the age married sisters.  The word of God is clear, and though wicked church men abuse these passages, there is great reward for you in obedience as the Lord sees what you do in your household when nobody else does.  Do not believe the lies, Gods ways are right and the feminist spirit of this age is wrong.  How will this look in your life?  Only the Holy Spirit can lead you, though the word gives the basic outline.

There are errors on both side, one being extreme patriarchial/quiverfull and the other being modern feminism.

God bless you in Christ Jesus.

    Sean,

I didn’t even know her blog was back up – that’s so cool. I spent years being taught of God how to be a radical christian on the streets while preaching to gangs and homeless. Now I am back to course 101, learning how to be a radical christian in my home as a husband and father. These are the greater things and are tougher lessons to learn in my opinion (for both brothers and sisters).

Husbands love your wives as Christ loves the Church and gave Himself for her – that is the ‘hardest’ saying in the word of God to me. Likewise, wives submitting to their own husbands is the counterpart of that.

God never flatters us, he flattens us sometimes. – Leonard Ravenhill

Nobody wants to be flattened, but this is often the case when we (who did not grow up in Godly homes) submitt to God in these matters and start to learn these things. It can truly flatten us.

Everybody wants revival – but I have seen the disasterous effects of what happens when the Spirit of God is moving out on the streets and in the group of saints but things are out of order at home. If there are two true believers at home we must submitt ourselves to the word of God, even the ‘hard’ word that many sisters reject for feminism and that many brothers reject for laziness.

Feminists shouldn’t be called Feminists, eh, as it sounds like they are supporting femininity, when they are actually opposed to femininity. More accurate to call them Masculinists, or, Women who want to be men.

It’s just as disgusting, in the sight of God, for a woman to act like a man, as it is for a man to act like a woman.

For the sisters who are coming under the influence of that demonic power, i wish they could see how ugly it makes them appear in the sight of men. They are throwing away their God-given beauty.

Even the woman who is not outwardly beautiful, according to the standards of beauty set by the culture, she can be very beautiful if she is truly feminine – content to be the woman God made her to be.

    Here’s just one example:

1Cor 11:15 But if a woman has long hair, IT IS A GLORY TO HER: for her hair is given her for a covering.

Any sister reading this, do you understand what this verse means? What is this “glory” of having long hair? It’s something God has set in order. You will be more beautiful with long hair, that’s what it means, as the hair is an outward sign of Godly submission.

I spose these same things would apply to men, and the beauty of Godly masculinity.
