Its heads give judgment for a bribe; its priests teach for a price; its prophets practice divination for money; yet they lean on the LORD and say, “Is not the LORD in the midst of us? No disaster shall come upon us.” Therefore because of you Zion shall be plowed as a field; Jerusalem shall become a heap of ruins, and the mountain of the house a wooded height. – Micah 3:11

I wanted to follow up on my last post about fleeing the AOG and give some simple examples of how the great religious corporation is fleecing their membership.  I also wanted to offer clear evidence that the denomination practices divination (spiritual manipulation) for money.  If you attend AOG please do not think I am writing this to come against you.  I personally wasted countless years and countless dollars there and I was really committed.  I urge you to consider the possibility that you may be a patsy in a religious scam and Jesus is calling you to humble yourself and flee from among it. For those that don’t know, AOG has its own financial division, sort of like what GMAC financial is to General Motors.  Let’s look at a couple of the fine products AOG Financial is currently selling to your pastor.

Resource Your Vision

This first little bit from the AOG website is a clear indicator that you are being used as a tool to build mans kingdom.  In the New Testament all true believers in a geographical area are the building stones that make up the church where the elders lead from among the sheep.  The Church is a living body, made of living stones, that minister to one another.  Contrast that to AOG’s resource your vision plan, that clearly shows you are little more than a dollar sign in the eyes of your pastor so he can fulfill his “God given” vision.

Pastors spend a lot of time worrying about money in relation to their church budget. Oftentimes, they feel alone when it comes to issues of resourcing the ministry. We want to help pastors develop a deeper culture of generosity within their church to support their God-given vision.

Generosity Action Plan

This is really good stuff here (by good I mean bad).  The GAP system.  For $99 a month your pastor can learn step by step techniques to manipulate you into funding the AOG kingdom.  Directly from the AOG website…

This is the way of an adulteress: she eats and wipes her mouth and says, “I have done no wrong.” -Proverbs 30:20

I know there are many true saints in there, my brothers and sisters in Christ, I write this on level ground with you, and not to insult you in any way. Still these examples of their religious manipulation are a sad indicator of what AOG has been reduced to. This is largely a harlot church whose prophets practice divination for money, using worldly methods such as the tithe rap to manipulate the crowds. This is the fruit of the pentecostal work moving away from Gods plan and following their own path. Like a junkie, who ends up living on the streets, they are now desperate to fund their habit of personal kingdom building. Perhaps they should have listened to the word of God that forbids such things… or at least the words of Frank Bartleman.

We had been called out to evangelize Los Angeles, not to build up another sect or party spirit. We needed no more organization nor machinery than what was really necessary for the speedy evangelizing of the city. Surely we had enough separate rival church organizations already on our hands. Each working largely for its own interest, advancement, and glory… -Frank Bartleman

Did you know that each AOG church has to tithe to its district or hq. This is the shocking truth I found directly from AOG. I cant believe how blinded people are by religion, so thankful Jesus saved me from it. At least now my AOG pew warming friends know why the guy in the pulpit is always pushing so hard for you to tithe… because he may get fired from his hireling position if he doesn’t have enough money to pay his. Flee from babylon, run for your lives. -Jim

I no longer attend the AoG church but it isn’t because of this post. It was more because I lost my faith in God and just stopped going. I lost my faith as a result of seeing and confronting other ‘chrisians’ about obvious lifestyle patterns in their lives. I became disillusioned after hearing so many excuses. I hang on the fence these days.
I would imagine that the Catholic church operates the same or in a similiar way as well.

      John-

Surely God does not want us in such company. Such people should be put out of the church (1 Cor 5:9-13) or if the leadership is the problem then we should flee (2 Cor 6:14-18, 2 Tim 3:1-5, Rev 18:1-4). Now that you are out you have to look inward at your own heart. Christ never did you any wrong… just suffered and died being bruised for your sins, made accursed for you. I am not saying that to cast judgment on you, I really do feel for you – though my abuse came from those in a house church, those who ate at my table rose up against me as David said. It really messed me up for a good long time and I am still recovering from it.

Paul, a chief apostle, suffered also from false brethren(2 Cor 11:26), believers deserting him (2 Tim 1:15, 2 Tim 4:10), bad talking him (2 Cor 6:8). It was only His love for Christ and being consumed by the reality of His kingdom that kept Him going (Acts 20:24, 2 Tim 2:10, Phil 3:8). Look to Him, your faith, hope, and love will be kindled. God bless you John.

Isaiah 42:3 A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth.

Isaiah 57:15 For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

JW, I would say all denominations work in a similar fashion. When I left a seeker friendly church that was part of the Southern Baptist Association. The pastor became angry with me. The deacon e-mailed me a week after leaving commanding me to come back. I didn’t lose faith in Christ, but have grown stronger. God is not working through these instituions. He is working in those who are willing to follow Him with or without pastoral doctorates and other meaningless man centered hogwash.

    From the AOG Financial site:

“Three myths about congregational giving habits”

The people in the pew are getting the message that a new job, job security, smart money management, government intervention, or their own enterprise is the path to financial salvation. Thus, the hoarding of wealth under the mask of “sound financial management” is the rule of the day. Based on the number of times the Bible speaks directly about finances and God’s people, it is reasonable to believe many people in the church are struggling with the worship of money in some form. Pastors have an amazing opportunity to set their people free from bondage through the ministry of giving.

Has your pastor been faithful in liberating you from your money yet my AOG friends?

    From the AOG Financial site:

“New Barna Research on Churches, Pastors and Giving”

I recently had conversations with several pastors around the country who have been focusing on the topic of stewardship. They have seen an increase of giving by as much as 34%! In talking with these pastors, there were two key elements that were always present: positive leadership and compelling vision. As a leader you have to be strong in both.

Has your pastor been strong in getting you to waste your money building the denominational kingdom my AOG friends?
