A false convert who pretended to be gay

Notice how the truth is completely lost in the following story. Instead of the truth that everyone is sinful (gay or straight) and needing to be saved from their sin, the false choices are given that we are either an anti-gay bigot or pro-gay Christian. This is what I call the blind leading the blind and both falling into the ditch. What a fearful day of judgment is coming, as this baby killing nation, its militant homosexuality, idolatrous liberal Christianity, and war mongering American dream pursuing conservative Christianity provoke God’s wrath to their own destruction.

For Timothy Kurek, gays were nothing more than “fags” destined to burn in hell. But Kurek, a conservative Christian living in Nashville, was surprised when a friend revealed to him she was a lesbian. He was also moved—and decided to spend a year living under cover as a gay man. He “came out” to his mom, recruited a pretend boyfriend, joined a gay softball league, and found himself the victim of the same verbal assaults that he once unleashed on others, the Guardianreports.

Called a “faggot” by a passerby during softball practice, Kurek was so enraged that he had to be restrained—and burst out in tears. “When I was first called that for real, I lost it,” he said. “I felt so violated by that word.” In the end, he “came out” as straight and wrote a book about the experience called The Cross in the Closet. He says his experience reaffirmed his faith and converted him into a gay-rights supporter; now he hopes others will follow. “The vast majority of conservative Christians are not hateful bigots at all,” he says. “It is just a vocal minority that gets noticed and attracts all the attention.”

What happens when a false convert evangelical becomes a false convert liberal “christian”. The prophets said of such days as these “the truth is fallen in the streets”.

Timothy Kurek grew up hating homosexuality. As a conservative Christian deep in America’s Bible belt, he had been taught that being gay was an abomination before God. He went to his right-wing church, saw himself as a soldier for Christ and attended Liberty University, the “evangelical West Point”…

Amazingly, the 26-year-old decided to “walk in the shoes” of a gay man in America by pretending to be homosexual…

But it was not a straightforward journey. Early on Kurek decided to try to acclimatise to Nashville’s gay scene by visiting a gay nightclub. Entering alone, he soon found himself dragged on to the dance floor by a shirtless muscular man covered in baby oil and glitter. As the pair danced to Beyoncé, the man pretended to ride Kurek like a horse to the disco music and called him a “bucking bronco”. It was all a bit too much, too soon. “I want to vomit. I need a cigarette. I feel like beating the hell out of him,” Kurek writes…

“I found gay Christians more devout than me!” Kurek says. He became active in a gay rights group and wound up joining a protest outside the Vatican’s embassy to the United Nations in New York.

  2. JW says:

I have struggled with this subject. Not with being homosexual because I am not but with the notion of homosexuals being that way. It is very easy to say homosexuality is a sin for the Bible shows it to be immoral but relationally homosexuality seems to permeated every fiber of a persons being for those who are homosexual. I have been trying to understand how they works. I have an uncle who is homosexual but I don’t know if he practices it. He goes to a gay church and even sings in a gospel quartet. I was also friends with a guy who struggled with homosexuality and eventually came out of the closet. It didn’t surprise me for he didn’t have much interest in girls. It is the relational aspect that causes people to sympathize with those who are homosexual because they say they didn’t choose it. It perplexes me because on one hand the Bible says it is sin and on the other hand it seems to incorporated every cell on some people. What is the solution?

  3. fleebabylon says:

    “What is the solution?”

To be born again and given a new nature..

    • JW says:

What happens when a person is born again and that homosexual nature does not go away? I don’t think it is as simple as just being born again.

      • fleebabylon says:

“I don’t think it is as simple as just being born again.”

Fair enough, my answer was over simplistic. Romans 6,7,8 seem to be the most direct answer. God bless you John.

  4. ian vincent says:

“Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshiped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is shameful, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was fitting. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not proper…”
    (Romans 1:24-28)
