Closing time

Posted: January 5, 2013 in apostasy, ecclesia, harlot church

Church hopping in the last days is a lot like a man bar hopping at closing time in search of an honest woman to make his bride. It’s a faulty plan to say the least.

..in the twilight, in the evening, at the time of night and darkness. And behold, the woman meets him, dressed as a prostitute, wily of heart. She is loud and wayward; her feet do not stay at home; now in the street, now in the market, and at every corner she lies in wait. -Proverbs 7:9

..at the end of the age, in the great falling away, the day of darkness. The harlot church, full of wily methods and enchanting sorcery. Her institutions and buildings are well known, she long ago left the foundation of Christ and the apostles, she did not stay at home in the purity of the Gospel. Now in the street and the market, where her deceived followers preach a “come to my church” message, now on the street corner with signs that read “methodist”, “nazarine”, “assemblies of God”, “baptist”, and so on. At every corner she lies in wait.

Her house is the way to Sheol, going down to the chambers of death.

Yes, that sounds very familiar. There are hundreds of these harlots standing on practically every street corner in this area, and it’s not a metropolis by any means. What I have discovered by the Word of God, is that every one of them will give you an STD, (spiritually transmitted disease),

23Then if any man shall say to you, See, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. 24For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; so that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. 25Behold, I have told you before. 26Why if they shall say to you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. Matt 24

  2. Powerful my friend. Why is it so hard for people to see that “my” anything is not synomous with biblical Christianity? Isn’t this a very first principle of the Christian life?
The only thing that flouishes in me is sin. I need redemption, not just from what I have done, but from who I am.

And on the flip side it is like a woman looking for a husband this way too. The best she will find is someone who tells her lies to take advantage of her and use her for their own evil purposes.

  4. TJ says:

You mean that my “church attendance” is not direct obedience to Christ Jesus? You mean Luke 2:49 is not talking about church services and my participation in such? But I am submitted to my pastor and elders….does that not count? I kid of course…

Excellent exposition and comments beloved, thank you

Proverbs 23:26 My son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe my ways. For a whore is a deep ditch; and a strange woman is a narrow pit. She also lieth in wait as for a prey, and increaseth the transgressors among men.

    A strange woman?

Like the supposed bride of Christ (ie “church”) that looks and acts NOTHING like what we read about or see in the NT. Where is the discernment in this generation, where are those who give their hearts and their eyes to observe the way of Christ and the apostles?
