Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; – Psalm 1

I am always encouraged to hear of American Christians pulling their children from the public school system.  A look at the average public school:

  • Delusional and godless teachers who think it is great that Heather has two mommies
  • Mean, haughty, and rebellions blaspheming children
  • Complete academic failure (the very purpose for which the system was created)

Putting our precious children into that system seems more like a curse than a blessing.  This is the type of thing that believers in communist or socialist countries are forced to do.  I know there are rare cases where believers in America have no other choice but I believe this is an exception.    I can testify that the spiritual and natural blessings of homeschooling our children make any sacrifice worth it.

We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one. -1 John 5:19

If you haven’t heard the anointed, scripture saturated, Christ exalting, beautiful music from Christ Our life I would strongly encourage you to give it a listen.  All of their music can be downloaded freely at http://www.christourlife.ca/  (I recommend grabbing both CDs to start).  The Lord could literally use this music to personally revive saints struggling in sin, defeat, despair, lukewarmness, lacking first love, etc.  He has used it greatly in my life.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

Here is one of the CD’s combined into a single youtube video so you can listen without clicking through each song.

Beware of false doomsday prophets

Posted: November 19, 2015 in ecclesia, Jesus

And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.  For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. -Matthew 24:4

It’s not just the smiling megachurch prosperity preachers you need to look out for.  The false doomsday prophets make a good living for themselves by selling books, speaking engagements, gold and survival supplies too.  The false doomsday prophets are like the boy that cried wolf, troubling true saints and numbing them to the call of true prophets.

Many of these men release a ‘prophetic word’ when the stock market takes a big hit but then are totally silent when it inevitably rebounds.  They are nothing more than speculative economic theorists trying to produce spiritual results through fleshy means.  In this they both fail as economists and as prophets.   Others are extreme zionists who support Christians going to war to kill arabs for the sake of nation state Israel.  Feeding constant fear to the saints is a cloak for misleading them into supporting war and violence.   Saints of God would do well to avoid both types of false doomsday prophets while still being aware that troubling times are ahead.

Lastly, many of these men use the name of Jesus and scripture loosely but only to serve their own end.  They ultimately want to steer you to their bank accounts, nation states, political party, etc as opposed to pure devotion to Jesus Christ.  Look at the emphasis of Peter while prophesying the future destruction of the earth (I believe it to be referencing the temporal destruction of Jerusalem in 70ad as well). [edit]

Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness -2 Peter 3:11

Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away. -1 Corinthians 13:8

Paul says to eagerly seek after spiritual gifts, but many believe there are no longer spiritual gifts in operation.   Is it any wonder that these gifts are not seen in the churches then?  If prophesy and tongues have ceased, has knowledge also ceased?  Some say prophesy is now just reading scripture, but God’s word, even in the New Testament seems to say otherwise.

And in these days prophets came from Jerusalem to Antioch.  Then one of them, named Agabus, stood up and showed by the Spirit that there was going to be a great famine throughout all the world, which also happened in the days of Claudius Caesar.  Then the disciples, each according to his ability, determined to send relief to the brethren dwelling in Judea.  This they also did, and sent it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul. -Acts 11:27

Answering a skeptic

Question:

There are millions of Gods that all have individual and a personal name. Recommend one I should cling to? Thanks.

Answer:

If you are asking this with a humble heart rather than a smug pride know that you are not far from the one true God. There are millions of wrong answers to the question “what is 1 + 1″ (using base 10 math) but there is only one correct answer. You can know God and be reconciled to Him through Jesus Christ the Messiah. All of the vile sins that you have committed in your life, that will otherwise be rightly punished, will be washed away and you will be made a brand new creation.

For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. -Romans 5:7

So many house churches, organic churches, wilderness saints, ‘ecclesia’ blogs, etc are nothing more than fronts for warped judaizers, liberal emergents, and platforms for men’s pet doctrines.  Leave these things to the carnal and soulish people who don’t have the spirit.  But you walk with God, serve the brethren in love, and be eager to care for the poor.

Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. -Galatians 5:1

For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another -Galatians 5:13

For this is the will of God, that by doing good you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men—as free, yet not using liberty as a cloak for vice, but as bondservants of God.Honor all people. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king. -1 Peter 2:15

Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering;  bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.  But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection.; -Colossians 3

These are things that we must learn as individuals by the Holy Spirit.  Love for God and his people is worth more than all of the empty Bible knowledge in the world.  Knowledge requires no real cross or sacrifice, but loving obedience often involves crucifying the flesh for the glory of God (and that often for the good of others rather than ourselves).

Hasn’t Jesus called us to this very work of lovingly and patiently serving others, often at the expense of our own flesh, for the glory of God the father?  How easy it is to get distracted from this calling and miss out on the heart of Jesus.
